7/18/2011: Taken at the Linganore Winery Reggae Festival (Mt. Airy, MD). The singer/keyboardist and her microphone were seriously underexposed and was just a silhouette against the sea of out-of-focus people. Thanks to taking the data RAW, her braids were still there. Accidentally made the histogram adjustment non-monotonic (mathematical-speak for not just going up or not just going down, in this case, an S curve) and got this effect.   • 7/25/2011: Sculpture outside the Udvar-Hazy Air and Space Museum, Smithsonian Institution, in Dulles, VA. <br /> <br /> I took a closeup of this and posted it on the Dailys a few weeks ago. It finally got noticed yesterday and got quite a few comments. Someone asked where it was, so I'm posting this picture of it today, giving its location. I prefer the closeup, though. Thanks for the comments!

  • 7/21/2001: Hula hooper at the Linganore Winery Reggae Festival. I liked the location of the hoop in the photo and the shadow cast on the ground. Problem was there were other people in the background that distracted from the composition. After a little PS, I got a much better image.
